Amie

Amie began her career as a volunteer missionary in 1999 in Pune, India. Her heart has been drawn toward foreign culture since her teen years. Administration, elementary education, and discipleship are the areas that God has led her to serve in thru the years.

After high school graduation, Amie began to work with children with autism, and was trained by the Center for Autism Related Disorders. She provided behavioral and cognitive home therapy. She worked with: Lovaas Institute For Early Intervention, Lincoln Institute, San Diego Unified School District, YMCA, and The Institute for Early Education.

Interwoven with Amie´s heart for children, she was eager to share the gospel on the foreign field. She attended YWAM’s Discipleship Training School in India. Amie stayed on in India and volunteered at Emmanuel Christian School, instituting structure to the behavioral and academic programs. She also attended the University of the Nation’s School of Biblical Studies while in India.

In 2001 Amie joined her parents, the founders of Compassion Connection, who were then serving in Oaxaca, Mexico. In 2004 Compassion Connection began serving in Ecuador where Amie continues wholeheartedly using her God-given gifts to serve Ecuador and share the gospel.

In 2016 God allowed Amie to become adoptive single mother to two precious Ecuadorian girls. They live in the capital, Quito, and enjoy life together with their local community and church.

What does Amie love?
"I love God, His Word, and the hope that He offers humanity. I love my family, the Church, foreign culture, children, and organizing. I also love decorating, art, nature, a heart to heart conversation, a hot cup of coffee, spicy food, a good run with a friend, and of course chocolate!"

What does Amie dislike?
"I dislike the realities of living in fallen world, a dirty kitchen, any sort of prejudice, folding clothes, politics, pork chops, sit ups, and being far away from many dear family and friends."

What is one life-defining verse?
"You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Matthew 22:37-40
